Part of the objectives for the Interactive Media Arts students with an Interactive specialization, is to learn about brand creation, visual identity guidelines and how to symbolize a company within a logo.
In this project, the student get to identify themselves in a logo that everyone will agree to have at the end. The logo is later reproduced in personalized t-shirts or hoodies.
Every year, the first-year students in the Interactive specialization create a logo to identify their generation in the IMA program. The students vote at the end to select the logo that will represent them for that year.
The students get to sketch, get feedback and put in practice their problem-based learning methodology to achieve a desire look for the class. They also coordinate a survey to help them select the logo they would like to have as a generation.
This year, Merissa Mayhew logo was selected to identify the class. This logo then becomes the identify for the generation, where the students get to use it across the different social media platforms, print material or just for fun projects.
